Qualifications….. What to look for in the wellness industry.

So, its no surprise that the Wellness industry isn't regulated. This means you could be working with someone who says a lot, but doesn't have the research to back it up. Whether you are looking to engage someone for the wellbeing of your employees or for your personal wellbeing, please look into their skills and experience before saying 'YES'. Not only do I have a lived experience in the wellbeing space, I hold a Graduate Diploma in Wellness with Distinction from the Health / Science faculty of RMIT, Wellness Coaching Certificate from Wellness Coaching Australia and I am a 250hr certified Yoga Teacher. What is WELLNESS?

So, WELLNESS has become quite the buzzword. I see it everywhere and in my opinion, it's been (on the most part) used incorrectly! Here is what WELLNESS means to me. CONNECTION. Wellness is connection.  Connection with yourself. Connection with your community/others. Connection with the environment. When you connect with yourself, you eat better, you move better and you take care of your emotions. You are positive and you are open to the amazing possibilities ahead of you. When you connect with others, you are putting the 'ego' aside and making sure that others are feeling good, that they have a support system and in turn, that makes you feel good. One is evil–he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith....

What the float?

What the float? I don’t know about you, but for me, this year is flying by and I feel like I’m going to look back and wonder what on earth I did with my spare time (apart from post graduate studies that is!!). I hold a Post-Graduate Certificate in Wellness from RMIT University and I am obsessed with anything that will get me closer to high-level wellness! So… every month I am going to try something new, something that I have never done before and that pushes me out of my comfort zone. Sensory depravation sounds like torture rather than pure relaxation doesn’t it? Well let me tell you this, it has been one of the most relaxing, recharging and all round beneficial experiences I have had!...
